As the unquenchable Kokomo Jones Esquire rolled out of bed this morning, he couldn’t predict that he would start writing his world famous music blog again. But what could make Koko install a word processor on his “Porn Only” laptop, and start smashing those crusted over keys again? Well, it was the very same thing that made Koko start writing his blog in the first place nigh on 5 years ago. The answer in 2 words…Jonny Fritz.
Out on the Weekend is back
It all happened when Koko’s best friend/divorce lawyer/drug dealer sent through some very important information via email. Out on the Weekend, Australia’s biggest and only best Americana music festival, was coming back. It is always the highlight of Koko’s year, and more important than any birthday on his calendar (Suck it Kids!). Last years Victoria only version of the festival was great, Koko still attended, got hella-drunk and enjoyed the shows. Saying that, something was missing from the lineup… something special…. something that rhymes with “nice titz”
The Unquenchable Kokomo Jones is Back
Well Hell, when the word came out that Out on the Weekend was coming back to Williamstown on Saturday, October 8, Koko knew what he had to do. He had to leave his high profile rehab clinic, say goodbye to his bunk mate Daniel Johns, and restart his blog again. Sure, Koko still has a little money left over from his Covid Side Hustle – taking the vaccine for anti-vaxers. That was one sweet gig for old Koko. It may have crushed what was left of the old immune system, but otherwise Koko is A-OK. Anyway, Koko’s doctor/girlfriend/proctologist says Koko’s chalky black jism should turn back to normal sooner or later. Koko trusts the modelling and the science on that one.
Who Is Playing Out on the Weekend 2022
Jonny Fritz is due to MC the event, and he is sure to play a set or two. Regular readers of Koko’s musical blog (Hi Mum!) are very aware of Koko’s love for Jonny Fritz, but what else is there to see? Well, along with a bunch of local Aussie acts, a few international acts have been announced also.
Koko wasn’t aware of Sierra Ferrel, but he looked her up on the You Tubes, and Holy Moly, she was great. Lovely voice and lovely face… hubba hubba. Koko will need to look up more of her music, very good and sounds amazing live.
Watchhouse (previously Mandolin Orange) were great too, and they are now officially on Koko’s to investigate further list. Officially.
And of course, the Sweet Creep, Jonny Fritz needs no introduction, but Koko will need to go back and listen to the hitz of Fritz. Or even, listen to Koko’s Jonny Fritz bootleg.
Final Thoughts
Well, with Out on the Weekend Back, Jonny Fritz coming back and Koko back on the old blog, maybe some normality will slowly creep into everyday life.
